Human Rights Leaders and Stevie Wonder: Boycott FL to Repeal the Stand Your Ground Law

Rev. Edward Pinkney, of BANCO.org, has called an immediate boycott of all Florida products, including orange juice and Disney World, until the "Stand Your Ground" law is repealed. Rev. Floyd Harris, of National Network in Action, is making the same call, as are the People's leaders across the country. The "Stand Your Ground" law is used to excuse the killing of blacks, like Trayvon Martin, but it is not used in defense of blacks, like Marissa Alexander, who is serving 20 years for firing a warning shot to avoid a brutal beating by her ex-husband shortly after giving birth. BOYCOTT4JUSTICE!

Boycotting is a highly effective, peaceful protest, as we learned during the civil rights era. Economic boycotts enlist the support of big business for The People's causes. Repeal the racist "Stand Your Ground," law to prevent more murders like Trayvon Martin's wrongful death.

Stevie Wonder gave notice that he will boycott Florida and all other states that have "Stand Your Ground" laws. See his statement below:

"I decided today that until the 'Stand Your Ground' law is abolished in Florida, I will never perform there again," the singer said in Quebec City. "As a matter of fact, wherever I find that law exists, I will not perform in that state or in that part of the world. The truth is that -- for those of you who’ve lost in the battle for justice, wherever that fits in any part of the world -- we can’t bring them back. What we can do is we can let our voices be heard."

The BlackList Pub also called for a boycott against the State of Florida, specifically naming 39 companies with Florida headquarters; the first five are listed below. BlackList Pub wrote:

Our community continues to face many challenges. The City of Benton Harbor has an Emergency Manager we call a dictator. The citizens of Benton Harbor and the State of Michigan voted to repeal the controversial State Emergency Manager's hostile takeover law, which attributes this position absolute power.

Benton Harbor is a city which Whirlpool Corporation is gentrifying and attempting to drive all the African Americans out of the city. This city is 93% African American. Roughly 70% of the residents are unemployed, and 90% live below the poverty level.

Rev. Pinkney is a court watcher. He usually attends court daily to observe disparity in treatment among Benton Harbor's citizens. BANCO has gotten criminal cases dismissed within the last two years against innocent defendants, including two murders and several armed and unarmed robberies.

The Justice Fund Dinner is a fundraising event to continue helping people across the country. Former Officers v. NAACP re Racketeering

A coalition of concerned former members and officers of the NAACP, including twenty-two former branch presidents, are filing a lawsuit against the NAACP. We are charging the organization with racketeering under the R.I.C.O. ACT. PLEASE JOIN US. The real crime is the NAACP's false claims, outrageous policies and destructive actions [toward the very people it supposedly represents].

Do you really believe that the NAACP is a non-partisan organization? Most people with an I.Q. above 100 know that the National Association for the Advancement of "Some" Colored People is an arm of the Democratic Party. The only people who are blinded to the facts are people who are confused enough to still support the NAACP.

The NAACP is considered a nonprofit organization only because they are called a nonprofit. The NAACP gets to enjoy the benefits of being tax-exempt, but there is an IRS provision that nonprofits must follow. A tax exempt organization must be non-political. That mean that nonprofit organizations cannot align themselves with a political party. They must be neutral. It looks like the NAACP has tipped its hand and exposed itself as being a partisan organization.

Report on Our Protest Against the NAACP - April 4, 2013

The anniversary of the murder of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King was celebrated with a protest. Black groups, churches, and community activists from Chicago, Philadelphia, Detroit, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Utah, Colorado, and Pittsburgh came together to protest at the NAACP national headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland. The protest was tremendous, exciting, and very successful. The protest was well covered by the media.

The purpose was to commemorate Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King's death and to demand new NAACP leadership. Rev. Dr. King was murdered by an assassin's bullet and pronounced dead on April 4, 1968, at 7:05 p.m. 

The NAACP, smothered to death with decades of corporate money, was pronounced dead on April 4, 2013.

The national office of the NAACP taped off the front of the building and the street like a crime scene in preparation for our protest. The NAACP is out of touch with the community. This was the very first time the NAACP national office had been marched on by protesters.

The protesters got the community and surrounding workers' attention and then the NAACP called the police to attempt to force protesters to stop picketing. The police told the NAACP we had every right to protest. The NAACP then called the sheriff, who also refused to help the NAACP [by violating protesters' First Amendment rights].

We shut the NAACP's national office down. We made history.  We demanded the resignations of Ben "sell us" Jealous and the Executive Board, and that the NAACP's nonprofit status be revoked.

April 4, 2013 will be remembered forever. The protest was tremendous. FoxNews took a survey to find out whether the NAACP is still relevant, and 100% of the people polled voted NO!

If necessary, every year on April 4 we will protest the NAACP in Baltimore.

WASHINGTON— Black leaders and former members of the National Association of the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) blasted the NAACP on the 45th anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King, claiming the organization “no longer stands for civil rights” and “kills black babies.”

NAACP President Ben Jealous refused to respond to reporters about the protest against the civil rights organization (held on the anniversary of MLK's assassination) during which protesters called the organization a sold-out annex of the Democratic Party that is opposed to the interests of African Americans.

NAACP Sells Out to Wells Fargo, Rev. Pinkney Implies

NAACP, Wells Fargo and the Road Less Traveled

A little over a month ago, I alerted folks that Wells Fargo is a lead sponsor of the NAACP’s 101st annual convention.

The sponsorship came within weeks of the NAACP dropping its racial discrimination lawsuit against the subprime mortgage lender.

While patting itself on the back for getting Wells Fargo to commit to doing what the bank says it is already doing, the NAACP refuses to disclose the details of their “partnership.”

A number of cities, including Memphis and Baltimore, are suing Wells Fargo for its predatory lending practices. Tellingly, Memphis Mayor A. C. Wharton Jr. announced the lawsuit in front of the National Museum of Civil Rights at the Lorraine Motel.

The New York Times reports:

Not so long ago, Memphis, a city where a majority of the residents are black, was a symbol of a South where racial history no longer tightly constrained the choices of a rising black working and middle class. Now this city epitomizes something more grim: How rising unemployment and growing foreclosures in the recession have combined to destroy black wealth and income and erase two decades of slow progress.

The mayor and former bank loan officers point a finger of blame at large national banks — in particular, Wells Fargo. During the last decade, they say, these banks singled out blacks in Memphis to sell them risky high-cost mortgages and consumer loans.

The City of Memphis and Shelby County sued Wells Fargo late last year, asserting that the bank’s foreclosure rate in predominantly black neighborhoods was nearly seven times that of the foreclosure rate in predominantly white neighborhoods. Other banks, including Citibank and Countrywide, foreclosed in more equal measure.

The NAACP should be shouting about Wells Fargo’s lending practices from the rooftop of the Lorraine Motel. Instead, the nation’s oldest and largest civil rights organization is being sponsored by the predatory lender.

In addition to being a lead sponsor of the NAACP’s upcoming convention, Wells Fargo was a co-sponsor of the Leadership 500 Summit held last week in Florida.

The summit featured a workshop on maintaining and building wealth. I wasn’t there but it’s safe to assume the Wells Fargo representative did not acknowledge the bank’s role in destroying black wealth in Memphis and cities across the country.

While the NAACP provides Wells Fargo with a platform to try to bamboozle black folks, the national leadership continues to stonewall questions about their financial arrangement.

The NAACP must be transparent with the African American community. It should start by answering the questions posed by bloggers and others:

• How do the “fair mortgage lending principles” differ from Wells Fargo’s Responsible Lending Principles for Consumer Credit?
• Was a formal partnership agreement signed? If so, how will it be enforced?
• How will the NAACP secure remedies for those who have already lost their homes due to predatory lending?
• Does the NAACP have the resources to examine the lending practices of the fourth-largest U.S. bank with more than 27,000 employees?
• How will the NAACP be able to manage Wells Fargo’s behavior more effectively than the Treasury and Housing and Urban Development departments, and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency?

During last week’s summit, NAACP President and CEO Benjamin Todd Jealous said the organization is moving in a new direction.

Transparency would be a step in the right direction. So far, it is the road less traveled.

Huey Newton v. NAACP and Cochran Firm Frauds

HUEY PERCY NEWTON (February 17, 1942 – August 22, 1989) was an African-American political and urban activist who, along with Bobby Seale, co-founded the Black Panther Party for Self Defense in 1966 (BPP). Newton died 23 years ago. CoIntelPro, a covert FBI program, targeted BPP members for death and false arrests. FBI informants infiltrated the BPP to gain and betray the members' trust. Although CoIntelPro spied on and impeded progress of justice quests by Puerto Ricans, Native Americans, and anti-war activists, most of its budget went to disrupting liberation initiatives for and by African Americans. Using inside traitors against African Americans and others continues today.

More American Caucasians now than at any time in history are being classified as "dissidents," like Kent State University war protesters were during the Vietnam War. The term is liberally applied to people who resist oppression. Whereas working class whites lived under the "illusion of inclusion" and believed their race made them equal to the privileged class in America for centuries, that has now Changed. Whites are beginning to experience long-term unemployment, invasions of privacy, and the loss of basic human rights. Although whites are new to that type of treatment, the struggle for economic justice and basic human rights has been a continuous and bloody battle throughout African American history. Huey Newton was a warrior in a people's ongoing struggle for dignity and self-determination. .

Unfortunately, many blacks work against justice for black people and always have. Consider the fact that the Black Congressional Caucus in 1986 supported stiffer sentencing for crack than for power cocaine, resulting in racist laws that unfairly targeted African Americans for a disproportionate incarceration rate that continues today. Wikipedia states, "The Anti-Drug Abuse Act of 1986 created a 100 to 1 sentencing disparity for crack vs. powder cocaine possession . . . a racist law which discriminates against minorities.  The Congressional Black Caucus backed the law, implying that the law cannot be racist." On New Year's Eve 2011, President Obama signed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), with provisions for indefinite military internment of Americans without criminal charges. If NDAA is ever used to encamp African Americans, other nations must not think that is not racists because blacks sign the orders. It is traditional to use blacks against other blacks in America. Please STOP THE COCHRAN FIRM COINTELPRO FRAUD PROGRAM against blacks in America. Former Cochran Firm attorney  Shawn Chapman Holley spoke to NPR about the firm's RACISM and FRAUD against attorneys who refused to defraud black clients after Johnnie Cochran's death and therefore lost their jobs http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=1217147  . The FBI CoIntelPro program used agents to infiltrate the Black Panther Party to spy on the group and undermine its effectiveness, arrest its BPP members and officers on false criminal charges, and arrange conflicts with police that led to numerous deaths. Johnnie Cochran exposed the covert government program in his defense of Geronimo ji Jaga Pratt, former minister of defense for the BPP. Next, Cochran announced plans to assemble a "dream team" to sue the United States Government and major corporations for slave reparations in 2002. Probably to raise money for that huge legal action, Cochran sold partnership in his firm to some Southern lawyers who turned out to be white supremacists. Cochran's brother and nephew were killed in separate shooting incidents by unknown assailants, then he died, also. Today, Johnnie Cochran's name is misused to defraud blacks seeking justice after police violence and corporate wrongdoing.

He was secretly arrested for 18 days and denied vital heart and psychiatric drugs until death under circumstances Shelby County Jail and the United States Department of Justice refuse to disclose (even under Attorney General Eric Holder). Mary Neal announced online her plans to sue the USDOJ, Cochran Firm, and Shelby County Government for collusion to cover-up Larry Neal's murder before the November 2012 elections. Criminals then burglarized the Neal's home on August 11 and stole only two boxes of Neals v. The Cochran Firm court records and substantiating documents which Georgia judges prevented from going before a jury in two lawsuits: Georgia Superior Court in 2005 and United States District Court in 2007. A police impersonator (according to DeKalb County Police) answered the Neal family's burglary call, but Dickerson drove a real police car. The man REFUSED to issue a police report about the burglary and theft of Cochran Firm court records. Mary Neal kept calling DeKalb County Police Department about being denied a police report until August 22, when police called her back. The Tucker precinct said that police records show the Neals' burglary call, but no officer had been dispatched yet. Therefore, the Neals' burglary call was answered by a CoIntelPro agent impersonating a police officer.

Heuy Newton and other BPP organizers, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and Malcolm X were CoIntelPro targets. The programs against them would not have succeeded without agents that gained their trust and defrauded them for the government. In the 21st century, it appears that every African American is targeted, because a law firm and national civil rights organization wearing names that black people trust have been recruited to help suppress African Americans. Wikipedia reports, "The Cochran Firm has received verdicts and settlements totaling over $45 billion. The partners of the firm have won 10 verdicts in excess of $100 million." That is disinformation. Some of The Cochran Firm's clients were awarded large amounts that they never received, thanks to the fraud lawyers. For example, Cochran Firm client Margarita Martinez won $27.1 million from her lawsuit, but she only recovered $200,000. Martinez had to sue The CoIntelPro Cochran Firm for malpractice to recover another $287,000. Therefore, Martinez actually recovered only $487,000 of her $27.1 million award. CoIntelPro always used disinformation as one of its tactics. The Cochran Firm wanted its insurers to pay Martinez for its fraud against the client, but malpractice does not cover deliberate fraud. Therefore, The Cochran Firm entered suit against its insurers. Of course even CoIntelPro law firms must do right by people sometimes to stay in business.

CoIntelPro operatives must provide reliable goods and services ordinarily, or their program to defraud people could not be effective and lure victims. The public is only allowed to hear about the firm's satisfied customers, not defrauded clients who were cheated of billions by The Cochran Firm to help the system. To continue the fraud program, doing good work in some cases is important. CoIntelPro agent Ernest Withers traveled with Dr. King as official photographer of the civil rights movement. Wither's photographs of the human rights movement that he worked to undermine will forever be important. Withers even took pictures of Dr. King dead for his employers' enjoyment. CoIntelPro operatives have to keep their targets' confidence. Records show that Richard Masato Aoki was a CoIntelPro agent. (Unlike other people and the NAACP in this article, I have no personal knowledge about Aoki and cannot verify the record. CoIntelPro falsified records so often that it is important to have more information than just a record before deciding conclusively whether one is/was CoIntelPro). Weapons that he provided BPP officers were fully operational, and photographs by Ernest Withers will always be historically important. Likewise, The Cochran Firm meets its clients' expectations in many of its legal cases. CoIntelPro agents have to do their jobs well in order to be trusted by their targets. More American Caucasians now than at any time in history are being classified as "dissidents," like Kent State University war protesters were during the Vietnam War. The term is liberally applied to people who resist oppression. Whereas working class whites lived under the "illusion of inclusion" and believed their race made them equal to the privileged class in America for centuries, that has now Changed. Whites are beginning to experience long-term unemployment, invasions of privacy, and the loss of basic human rights. Although whites are new to that type of treatment, the struggle for economic justice and basic human rights has been a continuous and bloody battle throughout African American history. Huey Newton was a warrior in a people's ongoing struggle for dignity and self-determination.

Unfortunately, many blacks work against justice for black people and always have. Consider the fact that the Black Congressional Caucus in 1986 supported stiffer sentencing for crack than for power cocaine, resulting in racist laws that unfairly targeted African Americans for a disproportionate incarceration rate that continues today. Wikipedia states, "The Anti-Drug Abuse Act of 1986 created a 100 to 1 sentencing disparity for crack vs. powder cocaine possession . . . a racist law which discriminates against minorities.  The Congressional Black Caucus backed the law, implying that the law cannot be racist." On New Year's Eve 2011, President Obama signed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), with provisions for indefinite military internment of Americans without criminal charges. If NDAA is ever used to encamp African Americans, other nations must not think that is not racists because blacks sign the orders. It is traditional to use blacks against other blacks in America. Is the NAACP Attempting to Oust Rev. Pinkney?

After fighting for the right to vote for over 100 years, is the NAACP now ready to disenfranchise Benton Harbor members?

Last August 22, 2011 MI NAACP president Yvonne White asked Rev. Pinkney for the Benton Harbor chapter's 2010 "Branch Election" report. He emailed it to her that same day and received this email reply:

Now, five months later, Yvonne White has emailed Pinkney stating that the MI NAACP will come to BH on Feb. 25, 2012 to hold elections. Rev. Pinkney was elected branch president by wide margins in both 2009 and just five months ago, August 13, 2011.White says this coming election will be forced on the BH branch because the report Pinkney sent last August, which sec'y Juanita Taylor accepted, was not signed (how does one sign an email?), and a 2010 election was not held by the branch. According to White, the BH branch is no longer in "Good Standing."

Rev. Pinkney says there are two untruths in White's most recent email: She claims it had been explained to the BH membership that the 2009 election was only good until 2010, and that the state NAACP "attempted to work with the Branch to schedule that election. However, for various reasons this never took place." Pinkney says these things never happened.

White also stated: "It is also my understanding that the Branch has not met in more than six months and there are no current Executive Committee members." It would be almost no effort for her to discover that BH NAACP has a slate of officers and meets every single month.

Do Benton Harbor NAACP members have to fight the organization that supposedly stands for free and fair elections for all? Why should the August 13, 2011 election be tossed out? Is this really about silencing Pinkney? It certainly wouldn't be the first time! It's extremely distressing to see an organization such as the NAACP act like Emergency Manager Joe Harris, who already disenfranchised all Benton Harbor voters! Is the NAACP the new Emergency Manager?
