Support H.R.3785, a bill to REPEAL NDAA's indefinite detention Section 1027. Write your representatives about that and other concerns at this link: http://www.usa.gov/Contact/Elected.shtml
Rev. Pinkney's advocacy built the NAACP in Benton Harbor, Michigan, but he is now under attack BY the NAACP. Pinkney needs our help fighting to keep his NAACP position. There is apparently a program underway to oust Rev. Pinkney and perhaps install someone with less dedication to promoting justice in his stead. Let's make some noise for Rev. Pinkney, who continually fights for the 99% of all races throughout America. Please email your support for Rev. Pinkney to email@example.com and to firstname.lastname@example.org and to email@example.com . You and I do not live in Benton Harbor to actually vote for Rev. Pinkney during its NAACP election, but our emails to NAACP officials will cast our votes for this champion for freedom after the order of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
"We cannot run society for the privileged and allow a significant proportion of the population to be marginalized. It impacts the quality of life for all of us. If we have throwaway people, a justice system which tolerates injustice is doomed to collapse. I am truly ready for action. Call or write me anytime about anything! Phone 269-925-0001 firstname.lastname@example.org ." Do you have your minister's personal phone number and email address? Does your minister address foreclosures, job losses, systemic racism, and other injustices like renowned human rights leader Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. did? Please support the People's Pastor, Reverend Edward Pinkney. Help him to help more people. send contributions to Reverend Pinkney at 1940 Union St., Benton Harbor, MI 49022.
In addition, I urge everyone to go to the B.H. BANCO website at this link http://bhbanco.blogspot.com/ . Stay abreast of what is happening in Benton Harbor, Michigan, the first city in America where democracy has been set aside in order for a corporation to rule. All the city officials were essentially fired last year, and Michigan's governor set a city manager over The People in that city. Benton Harbor residents now have taxation without representation. The excuse was that Benton Harbor had a budget shortfall in the approximate amount of a bailout that state officials made to Whirlpool Corporation.
Hundreds more city managers are being trained, perhaps one for your town. FIRST, they come for the disenfranchised and minority areas, but if Americans allow this atrocious takeover in Benton Harbor to go unchallenged, Such encroachments on Liberty will be your personal problem soon. RECOGNIZE that an injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere (MLK). Benton Harbor's fight against corporate dominance is your fight. Please support The People's Pastor by sending emails to the NAACP and by making financial donations to BANCO organization at 1940 Union St., Benton Harbor, MI 49022. Rev. Pinkney's mission is to uphold JUSTICE in America for the poor and working class of every race in Michigan and throughout the country. Let us STAND with him and for him as he stands for us. Please support Rev. Pinkney by sending emails to the NAACP and financial contributions to BANCO that will enable Rev. Pinkney to help more of The People who call on him for help daily, including families of missing and murdered people, the wrongly convicted, teachers who are treated unfairly by the school system, workers who are being replaced by shipping jobs overseas and behind prison walls, and activists like myself who advocate for human rights for prisoners and all Americans. We appreciate your solidarity against oppression.
"I swore never to be silent whenever and wherever human beings endure suffering and humiliation. We must always take sides. . . Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented. To remain silent and indifferent is the greatest sin of all." ~ Elie Wiesel, Nobel Prize for Peace, 1986
Last August 22, 2011 MI NAACP president Yvonne White asked Rev. Pinkney for the Benton Harbor chapter's 2010 "Branch Election" report. He emailed it to her that same day and received this email reply:
Rev. Edward Pinkney,
Your Officer's Report has been received and will be filed at the state office. Thank you!
Juanita Taylor, Secretary, MI State Conference NAACP
Now, five months later, Yvonne White has emailed Pinkney stating that the MI NAACP will come to BH on Feb. 25, 2012 to hold elections. Rev. Pinkney was elected branch president by wide margins in both 2009 and just five months ago, August 13, 2011.White says this coming election will be forced on the BH branch because the report Pinkney sent last August, which sec'y Juanita Taylor accepted, was not signed (how does one sign an email?), and a 2010 election was not held by the branch. According to White, the BH branch is no longer in "Good Standing."
Rev. Pinkney says there are two untruths in White's most recent email: She claims it had been explained to the BH membership that the 2009 election was only good until 2010, and that the state NAACP "attempted to work with the Branch to schedule that election. However, for various reasons this never took place." Pinkney says these things never happened.
White also stated: "It is also my understanding that the Branch has not met in more than six months and there are no current Executive Committee members." It would be almost no effort for her to discover that BH NAACP has a slate of officers and meets every single month.
Do Benton Harbor NAACP members have to fight the organization that supposedly stands for free and fair elections for all? Why should the August 13, 2011 election be tossed out? Is this really about silencing Pinkney? It certainly wouldn't be the first time! It's extremely distressing to see an organization such as the NAACP act like Emergency Manager Joe Harris, who already disenfranchised all Benton Harbor voters! Is the NAACP the new Emergency Manager?
(For the record, the BH chapter is called Twin City Area Branch NAACP #3155.)
Spread the word! Marcus Robinson liaison for Cornerstone Alliance and Whirlpool is illegally attempting to take over the NAACP!
My MaryLovesJustice Facebook announcement for the Rev. Pinkney Blogtalk Show posted on February 5, 2012, is below (edited):
“The thrust [of the county courthouse] is to physically remove and destroy families through the use of the criminal justice system. Every person they can put in jail; every person whose voting rights they can revoke with a felony conviction; every person they can cause to lose their job by putting them on probation; every person they can cause to lose the ability to pay for basic necessities through imposing ruinous court costs and probation is all part of the process. In the 1960s, it was called Negro removal. In Bosnia, it was called ethnic cleansing. It could be called genocide, the removal of the minority population for the purpose of redevelopment of the land. That’s what’s happening in Benton Harbor, and the foremost leader of the resistance is Rev. Edward Pinkney.” -Atty. Hugh "Buck" Davis
